It's true that nothing ever stays the same and the same thing can be said for marketing. It seems that as soon as you implement one strategy something new comes along.
Google Places has recently made a dramatic impact on search engine rankings (SEO), Facebook has changed its features and the newest one to make pretty dramatic changes is Youtube.
When I went to my Youtube account I had to reload my background image as well as choose between 4 new layouts that they have. The site looks 'sleeker' and I like the way my featured playlists are displayed.
In the video below Eric Johnson names 5 areas where marketing is going and shares that there are 45 hours of video added to Youtube every minute and that video is going to be dominate. Video is not confined to pc's and laptops it will also be on your smart phones and tablets.
He also predicts that the tablet will destroy the future of the laptop and PC as they become more powerful.
The fifth marketing trend he mentions is text message marketing. Did you know that text messaging offers instant messages to your customers and 94% of text messages are opened in the first 4 minutes and have a 50% response rate, not only is the response rate high customers are forwarding valuable texts to their friends.
No matter the size of your business you can begin implementing some of these marketing systems into your marketing plan.
